Our trip to Florida

Florida is a large state on the southeast coast of the United States, known for its beaches, amusement parks and wetlands. With a population of 21 million, it is a major economic center for tourism, construction, life sciences and the space industry. Florida also offers rich culture and entertainment, from theaters and art galleries to festivals and cultural events.

Arrived at the airport of Miami, we rent a car on the spot in order to go to our rental. Thanks to our exchanges with HomeExchange, we arrive in a superb house for 15 days in Delray Beach, 85 kms north of Miami, in exchange of Guestpoints (saving of about 2000 €)

The next day, we visit Miami, a must-see for its white sandy beaches, warm and sunny weather, and lively nightlife. Miami is also known for its Art Deco architecture, Cuban cuisine and diverse art scene. The city is also home to several national parks, such as Biscayne Bay Islands National Park, as well as famous shopping malls, restaurants and tourist attractions.

Must-do's: The Mojito bar, The Bubba Gump, a boat trip to see the city from the sea and admire the houses of the stars

If you can, fly over the city in a helicopter by day and/or night, an incredible souvenir. It is necessary to count approximately 200 to 300 € according to the course

Palm Beach: The beaches are considered one of the most beautiful and cleanest in Florida. There are many museums, art galleries and theaters.

Key West is also famous for being the southernmost point of the continental U.S., making it a stopover for vacationers on their way to the Caribbean. The city is home to many historical sites, including Fort Zachary Taylor State Park, the Ernest Hemingway Museum and the Harry S. Truman House, which served as a summer retreat for the president of the United States.

In addition to its many attractions, Key West also offers a variety of outdoor activities, such as snorkeling, ocean fishing, kayaking and sailing. The city is also known for its lively nightlife, with many bars, clubs and restaurants offering live music and a laid-back atmosphere.

Olivia is a 48 centimeter female Green Turtle who was rescued in great danger of strangulation by a ghost fishing net west of Horseshoe Key (Florida Island). Olivia also had a dangerous tumor that she fought brilliantly against during her care at the Turtle Hospital. Despite all these events, little Olivia is now in great shape and enjoying the lush waters of South Florida since her rehabilitation.

We continue our journey towards Naples (west coast of Florida) in Patti's incredible house for 2 nights: Thanks to our Guestpoints with HomeExchange we saved 500 €.

It is a popular destination because of its beautiful white sandy beaches and year-round sunny weather. Naples is also known for its world-class golf courses, luxury shopping centers and restaurants featuring local and international cuisine. The city is also home to many natural parks, such as Ten Thousand Islands National Park and Delnor-Wiggins Pass Nature Park. In addition to its tourist attractions, Naples is considered one of the most affluent and exclusive communities in Florida, with a large concentration of luxury villas and homes.

This is the site from which American rockets and space shuttles are launched. It is also home to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, a tourist center for space enthusiasts. It's a fascinating place for science and history buffs, offering interactive exhibits and space station tours to learn how rockets and shuttles are built and launched into space.

Universal Studios Orlando is a theme park located in Orlando, Florida, United States. Opened in 1990, it is one of the largest theme parks in the world with an area of over 100 hectares. The park offers a variety of rides, shows and interactive attractions inspired by popular movies and TV series. We spent 2 days there!

  • Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts: a roller coaster ride inside the Bank of Gringotts, inspired by the Harry Potter saga.

  • Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit: a roller coaster with a customizable soundtrack.

  • The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: a set of themed areas inspired by the Harry Potter universe, including the Crossroads, Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade Village.

  • Men in Black Alien Attack: an interactive course where you play as an agent fighting aliens.

  • E.T. Adventure: a flying bike ride inspired by the movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

  • Shrek 4-D: a 4D adventure in the universe of Shrek.

SeaWorld is a theme park that offers an immersive marine life experience, with dolphin, orca and other marine animal shows, thrill rides and interactive exhibits. Here is a list of some of the attractions

  • Kraken: Another roller coaster that spins and loops at high speeds.

  • Journey to Atlantis: A boat ride that combines thrills with a water ride experience.
